Wine History: The warm days and cool nights of the Alexander Valley at Napa's northern end are ideal for growing luscious grapes, but it takes a deft hand to maintain the vines so the fruit doesn't over-ripen. This well-balanced wine was aged two years, with the second in a French oak Bordeaux barrel, giving a hint of Bordeaux on the palate. Production was limited to 250 cases.
Tasting Notes: This deep-purple cab is more fruity than earthy, with a hint of chocolate and a long, smooth, sophisticated finish. This wine, already mature, will only continue to improve until 2026. Pair it with filet mignon, any beef dish, eggplant parmesan and mushroom dishes. Also delicious with chocolate truffles.
