Sauvignon Blanc (2012)

A crisp, refreshing white wine from California's Santa Ynez Valley, delicious as an aperitif or paired with light cuisine.

Wine History: The sauvignon blanc grape originated in the Bordeaux region of France and thrives in climates that are sunny but not too hot. The Santa Ynez Valley, northwest of Santa Barbara, benefits from coastal fog that tempers daytime sunshine with cool and damp mornings and evenings - an ideal mix during this grape's growing season.

Tasting Notes: This crisp, classic sauvignon blanc boasts hints of grapefruit and lemon over light grassy notes. Unoaked and fruity, but never sweet, it distinguishes itself from the creamier Fume Blancs and pairs beautifully with grilled foods, shellfish, and fresh vegetables as well as goat cheese and even sushi.
