Lua Laranja (Orange Moon)

This orange-infused wine from Madera explodes with sweet flavor and is delicious as an aperitif or dessert wine.

Wine History: The Madera appellation just south of Yosemite National Park has a hot, arid climate that's tempered by the nearby San Joaquin River and Sierra Nevada mountain range. The climate and soil are ideal for producing sweeter grapes for dessert wines, and the area has become renowned for these delicacies. Our Lua Laranja (Portuguese for Orange Moon) is a blend of Verdelho (40%), Palamino (30%) and Malvasia (30%) infused with natural orange peel.

Tasting Notes: Reminiscent of Vin Santo (Italian dessert wine), this is a lovely aperitif that's also perfect for biscotti-dipping after dinner. Go ahead - try it! We won't judge you. In fact, if you visit our winery for a tasting we might just give you some biscotti so you can try it for yourself.
